Overview

NSB Omega is seeking a Rig Supervisor for a 14 / 7 FIFO assignment with our major Oil & Gas client in Kearl, AB.

Responsibilities
  • Represent the company on a rig site to support the safe and efficient execution of well plans. Serve as the primary contact for rig and third‑party personnel to ensure logistics for personnel, equipment and services are organized and managed.
  • Communicate safety, security, health, and environmental expectations and support managing SSHE events.
  • Convey Operations Integrity Management System (OIMS) expectations on the rig site.
  • Monitor rig operations and provide feedback to the rig contractor to ensure well control procedures are properly followed and emergency situations are managed.
  • Ensure that safety, operational, environmental, security and other drills are conducted on site at specified frequencies.
  • Ensure drilling and completion procedures are followed as approved and utilize management of change processes if changes are required.
  • Order and organize logistics for services and equipment necessary to conduct drilling and completion operations efficiently.
  • Support onsite surveillance for operations in areas such as kick detection, abnormal pressure detection, torque & drag, mud properties, and solids control efficiency.
  • Generate accurate and adequate operations reports.
  • Interface with engineering and geology to ensure understanding of well objectives and procedural requirements.
Qualifications Required
  • Experience in rig supervisory or rig leadership roles for drilling and completion operations.
  • Experience working for a major Operator or Drilling Contractor.
  • Hold current certification for Well Control.
  • 10+ years experience (preferable).
Duration

1 Year (with possibility of extension).

Location

Kearl, AB (Rotational 14 days on / 7 days off). FIFO : Calgary or Edmonton (or travel to Fort McMurray, AB).
