Personal Support Workers/Developmental Service Worker, Respite work within the framework of Continuous Quality Improvement, VON District Philosophy, policies and procedures, standards and application legislation. Contributes to the fulfillment of the VON Mission Statement to develop and/or promote programs to meet community needs. Respite workers provide programming in the home to support the well being of clients and provide caregiver relief.
The successful candidates will be responsible for providing companionship, personal care and health maintenance services to clients , within the framework of VON's philosophy, policies, standards and legislation.
This role requires a detail-oriented approach in a dynamic environment, with physical activity including lifting, carrying (using proper techniques), bending, reaching, kneeling, and other movements that emphasize good body mechanics. Individuals in the role are required to walk, sit, stand, and climb stairs throughout the day, with some tasks requiring fine hand movements.
