A community support organization is seeking a Residential Care Worker in Winnipeg to provide a safe environment for residents. You will monitor activities, record incidents, and support clients in need. The role requires a high school diploma and specialized training in addiction counselling. Duties include enforcing rules, providing support for clients, and coordinating care. Evening shifts are required, and the position is full-time with a competitive salary. The incumbent may also face challenging situations and should be prepared for various work conditions.

The Residential Care Worker provides a safe and secure environment for residents and visitors.
The incumbent is responsible for the following range of job duties characteristics:

The above responsibilities must be performed in keeping with The Salvation Army’s Mission, Vision and Values, in a professional manner, upholding our code of conduct.
The successful job applicant will have completed high school, plus specialized courses of up to six months (Addictions facilities).
Note: An alternative level of education and experience may be acceptable.

The incumbent must have the following experience before hire:
More than three months but less than one year of prior related experience, including experience with frontline work in a social services setting.
The performance of the job requires moderate amounts of keyboarding, and performing walk abouts.
The performance of the job requires continuously monitoring the environment, monitoring security cameras and attentiveness when interacting with clients and recording information.
The incumbent is involved in minor financial matters regularly or on a relief basis or has responsibility for the wise use of his/her own resources. He/She may be authorized to spend, disburse, or collect small amounts of cash. The incumbent has very little input into the annual budget.
The incumbent is responsible for his/her own time and effort only. He/She may demonstrate work methods to new employees, volunteers and or students.

Work Schedule: Friday, Saturday, Sunday, Monday
Shift: Evening position
Time: 3:30pm to 11:30pm
The target hiring range for this position is $17.77 to $17.77 with a maximum of $17.77.
Placement in the salary range will be based on factors such as market conditions, internal equity, and candidate experience, skills, and qualifications relevant to the role.
