Job description

The Opportunity

You will be working very closely with the lead researcher from Alberta Health Services (AHS) on this project. As a SAIT Research Assistant, and a member of the collaborative research team, you would be responsible for conducting secondary research, reviewing collected data, and assisting in organizing research data. This may involve participating in focus groups, data auditing, and other data collection methods methods. Other related tasks will include related secondary research, planning and administrative tasks associated with the project. You would participate as a contract research intern to the School of Business faculty and assigned to this project with the AHS primary research team.

The Research Assistant can work flexible hours with some requirements for in-person and/or virtual participation in project team meetings.

The Role
  • Working with SAIT and AHS community partners and research subject matter experts
  • Assist in the finding and organizing of secondary data
  • Collect and tabulate data from research participants
  • Confirm accuracy of data collected and submit to project faculty
  • Perform secondary research and related project work as required
  • Data entry and review as required
  • Project orientation provided
  • Specialized research software familiarization and orientation provided by the AHS research team.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Must be currently enrolled in a full time program (degree or diploma) at SAIT School of Business or School of Health and Public Safety
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with the members of the research team and community contacts
  • Demonstrated ability to ask questions and listen attentively with accuracy for detail
  • Ability to work independently and as a member of a team
  • Excellent English verbal and written skills
  • Proficiency in operating a laptop computer with various MS-Office applications
  • Preference given to candidates with related research experience
