Taiko Labs is at the forefront of blockchain innovation, developing the Taiko ZK EVM, a Layer 2 solution that scales Ethereum by faithfully emulating its technical and non-technical characteristics. Our solution, an Ethereum-equivalent Type 1 ZKEVM, enhances the performance of Ethereum by supporting all EVM opcodes within a decentralized, permission-less, and secure Layer 2/3 framework.

Comprising seasoned professionals who have been utilizing ZKPs since 2018, our team has the distinction of having built the first ZK Rollup on Ethereum. We are looking for a senior Communication Specialist with solid understanding of crypto and blockchain technology (especially the Ethereum ecosystem, ZK and layer2 and strong storytelling (both writing and verbal) skills. This role will assist the Communication team in managing existing communication partner relationships and maximizing value from those partnerships.

You might be a Web3 content creator looking to move in-house, a PR lead at a leading blockchain company, or a journalist with experience in a crypto media company. You must be proactive and capable of crafting compelling narratives around our technology and the layer 2 blockchain solutions we provide. Ideally (though not necessarily), you have connections in Western crypto media to help us better establish our media presence in the West.

Reporting To: Head of Communications

Responsibilities:

• Strategic Communication: Develop and execute cutting-edge communication strategies that effectively showcase Taikoʼs tech innovations, partnerships, milestones, and mission to a global audience.
• Content Creation: Create engaging and informative content, including press releases, Blog posts, LinkedIn posts, and Twitter updates, that highlight Taikoʼs unique value proposition, milestones and campaigns. Being able to perform well in unexpected or ad-hoc situations, delivering high-quality content in a very short time is required)

Media and other Communication Partners Relations:

• Updating and pitching PR content to media and other communication partners
• Creating new ideas/angles for existing communication partners and media platforms to better cover Taiko (based on each of their competitive advantages)
• Monitoring performance of our communication partners and Media partners
• Exploring further collaboration opportunities with existing communication partners (eg Secure more western interview, AMA and podcast opportunities for Taiko etc)
• Leverage and expand your network of media contacts to ensure Taikoʼs achievements are broadly disseminated across key outlets.

Market Insight (identify news opportunities):

• Integrate a deep understanding of industry narratives, market trends, project developments and the competitive landscape to position Taiko strategically in all communications.

Collaboration:

• Work closely with the Ops teams to ensure brand consistency and message alignment across all communication channels.

Crisis Management:

• Handle crisis communication, swiftly addressing any PR challenges with strategic solutions.

Requirements:

• Connected: An established network of contacts within the crypto and

blockchain media landscape.

• Journalism Experience: Significant experience and contacts as a journalist in the tech space (writing and editorial will be a major responsibility).
• Communication Mastery: Exceptional writing and verbal communication skills, capable of translating complex technical details into compelling stories.
• Crypto Savvy: Demonstrated knowledge of and passion for blockchain technology, cryptocurrencies, and the wider crypto (mainly Ethereum) ecosystem.
• Performance: A proven track record of successful PR campaigns within the crypto space, demonstrating creativity and impact.
• Adaptability: Thrive in a fast-paced, startup environment, juggling multiple projects with meticulous attention to detail and a passion for making and meeting deadlines.
• Agility: Being able to perform well in unexpected or ad-hoc situations, delivering high-quality content in a very short time is especially important. As a startup, many milestones and events require quick responses, drafting content swiftly, and communicating effectively with journalists.
• Strategic Thinker: Proactive in identifying communication opportunities, with a keen eye on Taikoʼs progress and the latest industry trends.
