Job summary
A healthcare institution in Toronto is looking for a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer to perform various ultrasound examinations, care for patients, and prepare detailed reports. The ideal candidate must be a CMRITO registered sonographer with experience, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited ultrasound program or recognized equivalent.
- Registration as Diagnostic Medical Sonographer with CMRITO mandatory.
- Ability to work on call rotation.
- Recent related ultrasound technologist experience required.

Responsibilities
- Perform a variety of diagnostic ultrasound examinations including high/low risk obstetrical nuchal translucency, anatomy, cervical (TVS), multiple gestations, Doppler assessment and neonatal neurosonography, abdomen and small parts.
- Perform fetal and neonatal ultrasound imaging procedures in WBUS department, including on call shifts evenings and weekends as needed.
- Performs and troubleshoots required care and maintenance of ultrasound and medical imaging equipment as required to ensure they are performing in an effective manner.
- Responsible for care of patients within the department. Collects, records, and verifies patient history and information. Obtains informed consent when required.
- Prepare and maintains adequate written and electronic reports to document all procedures and test results according to departmental policy and procedures.
- Collaborates and participates in teaching, research, educational, safety, and quality improvement programs.
Qualifications

- Registration as Diagnostic Medical Sonographer with CMRITO mandatory
- Certification in OBGYN preferred
- Certification in Pediatric Sonography preferred
- Current BCLS certification
- Ability to work on call rotation
