Job description

DEPARTMENT: MEDICINE LOCATION: OWEN SOUND UNION AFFILIATION: OPSEU – SERVICE STATUS: FULL-TIME, TEMPORARY (APPROX. END DATE AUG 2026) WAGE RATE: $37.071 - $38.157

Reporting to the Manager of Medicine, Owen Sound Site, the Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) workscollaboratively in an inter-disciplinary team to provide care to those patients with a stable and predictable outcome within the defined professional scope of practice as set out by the CNO.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Ontario College of Nurses registration
  • Ability to work at full scope of practice
  • Coronary Care 1 Course or willingness to obtain within 6 months of hire
  • 2 years recent acute care nursing experience
  • Excellent organizational and patient assessment skills
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills with patients, families and other healthcareprofessionals
  • Excellent problem-solving, decision-making and interpersonal skills
  • Commitment to continuing education and professional developmentParticipation in quality improvement initiatives on the unit
  • Recent satisfactory performance and attendance record
