A leading healthcare institution in Toronto seeking a Registered Practical Nurse for the ABI and Neurological Rehab unit. The role involves providing evidence-based nursing care, engaging with an interdisciplinary team, and supporting patient rehabilitation after brain injuries. Candidates must possess a current Certificate of Competence and BCLS certification. A competitive salary starting at $34.812/hour is offered.
Help patients regain essential skills after a life-altering brain injury as a Registered Practical Nurse on Hennick Bridgepoint Hospital’s ABI and Neurological Rehab unit. With access to specialized resources from the Toronto ABI Network and Ontario Neurotrauma Foundation, you’ll build in-demand expertise in a growing area of nursing. Working closely with physical medicine and rehabilitation specialists, you’ll deliver hands‑on care that supports meaningful patient progress. Experience a unique kind of fulfillment, confronting the complexities of brain injury recovery with empathy, curiosity and specialized expertise.
Are you intrigued by rare or highly specific neurological conditions, viewing each as a chance to further your expertise and deliver personalized care? Your curiosity lends itself to careful observation—checking how a patient responds to a new exercise or comfort measure, then refining your approach as needed. This openness to continuous learning helps your patients feel seen, supported, and motivated to overcome the challenges of recovery.
You are comfortable navigating changing conditions, understanding that ABI care rarely follows a simple script. When a patient’s status changes suddenly, you’re quick to redirect your focus, ensuring they receive the immediate support they need. Your ability to adapt seamlessly inspires confidence among colleagues and patients alike, fostering a sense of trust in even the most demanding moments.
If you are the kind of caregiver who meets each setback with understanding and a steady hand, your unwavering resilience can help patients navigate the emotional highs and lows of recovery. You ensure the human side of care never fades behind clinical tasks. This empathetic approach inspires confidence, reminding everyone involved that progress is possible, even in uncertain moments.
Hennick Bridgepoint Hospital’s 4 South unit helps patients with acquired brain injuries and complex neurological conditions regain their independence and transition back to community living. These conditions may result from motor vehicle accidents, brain tumours, nerve injuries, or chronic conditions such as Multiple Sclerosis (MS) and Parkinson’s disease. Some patients may also be managing concurrent substance use disorders. Our interdisciplinary team of approximately 50 professionals across nursing, health disciplines, and medicine works together to address the varied clinical and psychosocial needs of each patient. Our team values continuous learning and a strong clinical acumen, ensuring that every individual’s journey toward recovery is supported by the best possible care.
Rotation: Day/Night
Salary: Minimum $34.812/hour; Maximum $35.970/hour
If this sounds like you and you feel ready to build your practical nursing career within ABI and neurological rehabilitative care, apply now and let us know why you’d be a great addition to our team.
