Qualifications

We are looking for a Registered Pharmacy Technician to support our Mental Health & Addictions program at our Campbell River and Courtenay locations. This is a rewarding opportunity to provide compassionate care to individuals receiving medication-assisted treatment for substance use disorders while supporting the broader health of our community. Registration with the College of Pharmacists is mandatory.

About the Role

This position supports both general pharmacy operations and our specialized mental health & addictions services. You’ll work in a fast-paced, compassionate setting to assist patients with their treatment, ensuring accuracy, safety, and regulatory compliance.

Duties
  • Assisting the pharmacist and pharmacy team in day-to-day pharmacy activities.
  • Medication Management – Prepare, process, and dispense prescriptions for methadone, Suboxone, and Kadian.
  • Assisting patients who are dropping off or picking up prescriptions, including those with complex care needs.
  • Entering prescriptions accurately into patient records.
  • Providing excellent customer service and collaborating with the pharmacist for medication recommendations, selection, or counseling—especially for mental health and addictions therapies.
  • Exercising independent authority, responsibility, and liability to prepare, process, and compound prescriptions.
  • Assisting in training new employees.
  • Performing inventory ordering and control.
