Employment: Temporary, 0.55 FTE, In‑Person, 7.75 hours daily, Evenings & Weekends, 12/01/2025 – 11/28/2026 (Maternity Leave)

Salary: As per MNU Collective Agreement

Position Overview

The Registered Nurse (RN) / Registered Psychiatric Nurse (RPN) – Home Care Services, Personal Care Home and/or Transitional Care – applies the nursing process to support clients, residents, and patients in achieving and maintaining optimal health within a people‑centered approach in acute, transitional, personal care home (PCH), primary care, public health – healthy living and/or home care settings. The RN/RPN works to full scope of practice, engages in ongoing education and maintains competency consistent with Southern Health‑Santé Sud policies, Professional Standards of Practice, College of Registered Nurses of Manitoba, College of Registered Psychiatric Nurses of Manitoba, Code of Ethics, and the Regulated Health Professions Act.

Responsibilities include exercising appropriate initiative and independent judgment in determining work priorities and methods, ensuring work practices align with the mission, vision, and values of Southern Health‑Santé Sud, and fulfilling all regulatory and professional requirements.

  • Valid Class 5 driver’s licence, an all‑purpose insured vehicle, and liability insurance of at least $1,000,000.00
Certification / Licensure / Registration
  • Current active registration with the College of Registered Nurses of Manitoba / College of Registered Psychiatric Nurses of Manitoba and scope of practice as defined by the Regulated Health Professions Act (RHPA)
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (Acute, Transitional, PCH, Primary Care, Public Health‑Healthy Living, Home Care Services)
Education

SCHIPP & VPP and any other mandatory courses for the specific area of work.

Physical Requirements

  • No hazardous or significantly unpleasant conditions
  • Availability to work days, evenings, nights, and weekends
  • Possible travel to other regional facilities as duties require
