Interior Health is seeking a patient focused; team oriented Registered Nurse to join our Medical team at the Kelowna General Hospital (KGH) in beautiful Kelowna, B.C.

This is a Casual opportunity with the KGH Medical team.

About The Job

The Registered Nurse:

  • Practices in a variety of clinical settings and is responsible for the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of client care.
  • Works in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team.
  • Ensures the delivery of client–centered care by assisting individual clients and their families respond to changing health care needs.
  • Demonstrates a specialized body of knowledge and bases practice on nursing science and related content from other sciences and humanities.

This is a Casual opportunity. Casual Employees are not guaranteed hours of work and can range from 0-37.5 hours per week on an as-needed basis.

Shifts of work will be scheduled days and nights; rotating from 07:00 to 19:00, 19:00 to 07:00 hours.

About this location/unit:

Interior Health has embarked on an expansion plan to meet increasing demands, expand health services, and enhance patient care in the Okanagan. Construction of the six-storey, Centennial Patient Care Tower was completed in May 2012. It includes an expanded emergency department and ambulatory care department, five new operating rooms, a rooftop helipad, an expanded adult inpatient psychiatric unit, and extra space for more patient beds in the future. Kelowna General Hospital is the site of the brand new clinical academic campus for the University of BC Medical School.

  • Unit 4 A is a 32-bed Medical unit.
  • Unit 6 West is a 34-bed Stroke/Clinical Teaching Unit.
