Job description
Willow Midwives is hiring a midwife!

We are a small practice of 4 midwives in Penticton, BC looking to expand our team. This is ideally a long-term position for the right fit. New registrants are welcome to apply.

We are located in the South Okanagan in the heart of Penticton, nestled between two lakes. Penticton enjoys hot summers, dry winters and lots of sunshine. With a population of 30,000, Penticton is small enough to enjoy the perks of rural living, yet big enough to provide everything you need within a 10 minute drive. Penticton is known for its beaches, wine, orchards, and an array of outdoor activities in any season.

THE JOB
  • Start date anytime between December 2025 and April 2026 (the earlier, the better)
  • Caseload of ¾ to full time on a team of 2 or 3 midwives (team of 2 takes 6-8 EDDs/month; team of three takes 9-12 EDDs/month)
  • Overhead approximately $1500/month
  • Income from shared client care, incl. MO payments, shared evenly among midwives on your team

Our clinic space is located in Penticton, on the unceded traditional territory of the syilx Nation, in a heritage home that we share with an acupuncturist, infant feeding clinic and doula. We are located 2 minutes from the hospital. We provide midwifery services to the communities of the South Okanagan, up to 1-2 hours outside Penticton. We use Med Access EMR and have amazing MOA support.

Hospital privileges are available at Penticton Regional Hospital (a level 1 facility). The hospital and its staff are extremely welcoming and supportive of midwifery and we enjoy excellent working relationships. We participate in MoreOB, NRP, and CPR without cost and recently received Baby Friendly Designation. We have skilled RN second attendants who support us at homebirths.

About You
  • Registered midwife in good standing with the BCCNM, with all competencies and continuing education requirements up to date
  • Comfortable with rural homebirth (this is very important to us!) up to 30 minutes from the hospital
  • Committed to supporting informed choice and comfortable caring for clients who decline standards of care
