Primary Role

A Recreation Manager Assistant plays an extremely important role at Memory & Company. Working under the Recreation Manager, and with the Support Team, the Recreation Manager Assistant helps to ensure our Members are comfortable, happy, engaged and well cared for while at Memory & Company. The Recreation Manager Assistant is responsible for planning, developing, and implementing programs that will enhance quality of life for our Members and will ensure that programs respond to Members physical, social, emotional, cognitive and spiritual well-being. . This also includes assisting our Members with light personal care when necessary, assisting with dining, and light housekeeping. The Recreation Manager Assistant is also responsible for maintaining on their provided IPad the ongoing documentation to ensure our Members needs are always met. Since Memory & Company is a Club, our focus is a social approach with a goal to keep our Members active in programs that interest each individual in a calm, relaxing, social and enjoyable and judgement-free environment.

Primary duties and responsibilities
  • Assist Recreation Manager in development of monthly activity calendar
  • Consistently introduce new and creative monthly programs
  • Plan interventions that meet Members individual strengths, needs and interests
  • Develop and deliver programs that respond to Members physical, emotional, cognitive, social and spiritual well-being.
  • Consult with and provide feedback to Recreation Manager regarding effectiveness of programs and need for adaptation
  • Communicate with the Support Team regarding changes in Members abilities, appropriate activities, and compatible peer group
  • Ensure the safety of our Members at all times when at the Club - conduct regular checks and counts of our Members
  • Assist Members with personal care needs as necessary
  • Assist with dining- preparation, serving, feeding assistance, occasional cooking, baking if a skill, washing dishes, clearing and wiping tables
  • Light housekeeping and laundry to ensure Memory & Company always looks, feels and smells its best
  • Always follow health and safety requirements and procedures
  • Maintain a respectful, open-minded, open-communication environment with all team members
  • Ensuring daily assigned Members have all tasks complete and that they are happy and engaged
  • Address concerns when they arise with the appropriate leaders
  • Ensure our Members are well fed, and hydrated at all times
  • Maintain the dignity of our Members at all times
  • Other duties as requested from time to time by the Memory & Company Leadership team
  • Can lift up to 35lbs.
  • Can bend, kneel, and stand for long periods of time
