Key Duties and Responsibilities
  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of assigned recreation programs. Develop, implement, coordinate, and evaluate plans and programs designed to ensure that the needs of children, youth, and families are met.
  • Ensure that program standards, guidelines and policies of BGCO are maintained and that all licensing requirements are met.
  • Assist with the recruitment of program staff and volunteers including conducting interviews, selection, hiring, and orientation.
  • Authority for the day-to-day direction, performance feedback of program staff and volunteers. Address staff workplace issues and assist in resolving workplace disputes.
  • Ensure that accurate program and client records are maintained, and that confidentiality is a priority.
  • Responsible for the co-ordination of quality and diverse programming. Work closely with the Manager on program development, procedures, and evaluations.
  • Manage program budgets.
  • Ensure effective communication with staff and families.
Qualifications
  • Three years of recent related experience including one-year supervisory or administrative experience or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience and/or Diploma in a related human/ social service field.
  • Demonstrated teamwork, leadership, and supervisory skills.
  • First Aid Certification or willingness to obtain within three months.
  • Class 5 Driver’s Licence and willingness to obtain Class 4 DL.
  • Successful completion of the Agency screening process, including criminal record check.

This position requires union membership.

Details

Hours: 35 hours per week, Tuesday to Saturday, mix of days, evenings, and Saturdays required

Rate of Pay: $24.69 per hour
