Real Estate Legal AssistantSalary: $60,000-$70,000Our client in downtown Ottawa is seeking a legal professional who can provide administrative support in the completion of residential and commercial real estate transactions. Also to assist in the area of development law.Duties
- Preparation and initial drafting of correspondence including editing and quality assurance
- Prepare precedent based documents as needed
- Title sub-searching and preliminary review of title searches
- Coordinate workflow and assist lawyer in prioritizing and following up on outstanding items
- Coordinate external and internal communication including mail, e-mail, fax and telephone calls
- Prepare client files for closure and storage
- Coordinate and organize meetings, conference calls and maintain agenda
- Assist with other projects as required
Qualifications
- Ability to work on site 5 days a week in downtown Ottawa
- Legal or Law Clerk diploma from recognized post-secondary institute or suitable combination of education and experience
- Strong working knowledge of MS Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
- Working knowledge of Unity and Teraview
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Experience preparing and editing correspondence
- Bilingualism would be considered an asset
- Minimum 3 of experience in commercial and residential real estate
- Experience with commercial real estate (conveyancing and financing) would be an asset
