Real Estate Clerk

Job description

Our client is a boutique law firm based in Etobicoke, currently seeking a full-time Real Estate Law Clerk with a minimum of 5 years relevant experience to join their busy practice.

Your new role

In this role, you will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the law firm, including administrative services and providing support to the team. You will work alongside a seasoned lawyer to ensure smooth practice operations. Your duties will include drafting legal documents and correspondence, liaising with clients, scheduling appointments, and managing the delivery and receipt of closing documents and proceeds. Additionally, you will prepare residential and commercial purchase, sale, and mortgage files, and handle opening, managing, and closing files.

What you will need to succeed

Candidates must have at least 5 years of experience and be capable of independently handling all aspects of basic residential real estate transactions, as well as supporting lawyers with more complex commercial transactions. Attention to detail, proofreading, and grammar skills are essential. The ability to multitask and take initiative is required. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Outlook, PC Law, and Unity/Conveyancer software is necessary; Teraview experience is a plus. Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills are required, along with the ability to work independently and as part of a team. Proficiency in a second language is valued.
