Quality and Measurement Technician — Granton, NS

THE OPPORTUNITY
The role of the Quality and Measurement Technician is to establish, define and monitor process parameters to ensure the quality and quantity of products produced.

Responsibilities
  • lead measurement and variation reduction initiatives and policies;
  • ensure measurement and testing methods and tools are capable and repeatable;
  • mentor and train multi-functional teams on the measurement and statistical methods and tools;
  • analyze quality data and develop corrective or preventative plans or projects from findings;
  • work as part of the quality leadership team; and,
  • support operations by monitoring production quality, performance and maintenance.
Qualifications
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, or diploma in engineering technology, or equivalent combination of education and experience;
  • 1-3 years of experience in a quality and/or variation reduction capacity; and,
  • hands-on mechanical proficiency.
The successful candidate should demonstrate the following
  • strong background in mathematics with a focus on statistics and probability and ability to apply to real-world situations;
  • ability to explain complex concepts to others with a wide range of technical skill;
  • awareness and the ability to work comfortably in an industrial setting; and,
  • the ability to develop digital tools.
