Job description

Vernon Jubilee Hospital (VJH) is seeking Psychiatrists interested in general psychiatry practice, with opportunities to further develop sub‑specialty interests. This is an excellent chance to build a fulfilling career within a supportive, team‑based culture while delivering high‑quality psychiatric care.

Our cohesive team of eight dedicated Psychiatrists provides care across a 17‑bed inpatient psychiatry unit, medical/surgical and emergency consultations, and community‑based practices. Currently, there is a specific need for psychiatry support with the Adult Community Support Services (ACSS) team, which serves individuals living with serious and persistent mental illness through intensive case management.

In this role, you will enjoy a diverse practice with opportunities to work across both acute care and community settings, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless care transitions. Within the community, you will play a vital role as part of the mental health team, providing outreach and telepsychiatry services across the North Okanagan region, extending from Vernon to Revelstoke.

As VJH is affiliated with the UBC Faculty of Medicine Southern Medical Program, you will also have the opportunity to teach and mentor medical students.

Additionally, leadership development opportunities are available through Interior Health’s NAVIG8 Program.
