Job description

We are currently seeking a Project Superintendent for one of our projects located in SK to work a 14 day on 14 days off schedule. As the Project Superintendent your role is to ensure that the construction of the project progresses according to plan and in completed to the highest standards.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Ensure compliance with the Thyssen Safety Management Plan and make safety a priority.
  • Ensure that in all phases of the project implementation the quality of workmanship and finished product meets or exceeds the standards expected by the owner and Thyssen Mining.
  • As part of the project management team participate in the management of the overall project to ensure that the project is managed in the most cost-effective and profitable manner.
  • Supervise the activities of the project.
  • Review and schedule manpower equipment and supplies for satisfactory performance of the project including placement of the necessary requisitions for the same.
  • In conjunction with the Project Team hire and terminate all hourly employees including first line supervisors.
  • Prepare and submit daily and weekly project reports to the project manager.
  • Coordinate the activities of all sub-contractors.
  • Assign tasks to work crews.
  • Review time reports and approve the same on a daily basis.
  • Comply with all Thyssen Mining and client policies and procedures statutory and regulatory requirements.
  • Liaise with the client representatives including the attendance at daily weekly and monthly project meetings as needed.
  • In conjunction with project controls ensure that monthly invoice information is available in a timely manner for submission.
  • Ensure all Thyssen Mining equipment meets statutory requirements and is maintained in safe operational conditions.
  • Ensure all employees have the appropriate training and experience to safely and efficiently perform their assigned tasks.
  • Stay up to date on training as per corporate safety & cyber security programs.
  • Other tasks as assigned Supervisor.
