What you will be doing

• Managing the personnel performing the scope of work.
• Implementing project management including responsibility to plan, control and monitoring the execution of all project work.
• Providing detailed reporting and communications on project status, with emphasis on resolving issues and correcting variances to plans.
• Holding budget responsibility for work ranging from $2M to $20M annually.
• Liaising and collaborating with other departments, colleagues and senior management.
• Applying the Decommissioning Quality Assurance (QA) Program requirements and its supporting procedures in project activities.
• Initiating and maintaining productive relationships with internal service providers.
• Ensuring appropriate execution of the WL Closure contract and overseeing management of contracts to deliver Projects.
• Enforcing management expectations regarding safe work practices, consequences of not following safe work practices and performance management issues.
• Ensuring that WL Restoration Project work is performed safely and in compliance with the requirements of the Site License and Facility Authority.
• Maintaining confidentiality in all matters.
• Other duties as assigned by your manager.

What we are looking for

• Education
  • Degree from an accredited university in a discipline relevant to project management, engineering, business or commerce and an excellent track record for leading large projects to successful conclusion.
• Experience
  • 5 years of progressively responsible project experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience, in a senior or lead project capacity.
  • Five to ten years of construction and/or decommissioning relevant experience or equivalent.
  • Established track record for project delivery and demonstrated team leadership.
  • Experience in a nuclear facility or nuclear decommissioning is an asset.
• Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Sound knowledge of the National Building Code, National Fire Code, and other relevant codes and standards used in the design, construction, and commissioning of nuclear and non-nuclear facilities.
  • Familiarity with the specific safety regulations, guidelines, standards and codes relevant to the decommissioning process.
  • Knowledge and application of radiation protection principles, measurements and contamination control.
  • Must be self-motivated and flexible relative to work assignments.
  • Must possess excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Extensive knowledge of processes related to strategic planning, human resources, and the management of people.
  • Must have strong general management skills, including planning, budgeting, resourcing, time management, negotiation skills, contract management and administration, and progress reporting for an executive audience.
• Security Clearance Eligibility Required
  • Reliability Status with Site Access Security Clearance (SASC), which has a minimum requirement of 3-5 years of verifiable history in Canada, Australia, New Zealand, the United States and/or the United Kingdom. CNL implements security screening in accordance with the Treasury Board of Canada Secretariat's “Standard on Security Screening” and the “Policy on Government Security.”

Working Conditions

• Must be capable of wearing and working in protective clothing, respirator and using equipment as required.
• Role is both office and field-based, and requires occasional travel.
• We have a compressed work week, which consists of a four-day work week and ten hours a day, starting at 6 am.
