MUST HAVES:
Project Management experience (as appropriate to the specified experience and level) and use of Project Management software (as appropriate to the specified experience level).
Experience in Waterfall and Agile project management methodologies
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills; verbal and written communication skills; interpersonal and negotiation skills.
Typical Day in Role
- Gather and develop requirements to create and maintain a detailed project schedule and/or integrated plan.
- Experience developing and managing project schedules, deliverables, and scope
- Ability to promote I&IT project management best practices and adherence to standard methodologies
- Demonstrated experience directing project teams to ensure project deliverables are delivered on time and adhere to government and ministry standards
- Extensive experience coordinating and monitoring project processes, and developing/communicating guidelines and procedures
- Resolve resourcing and inter-personal conflicts, negotiate changes to resourcing, ensure knowledge is shared among team members such as project objectives and deliverables are met.
- Effectively manages large project budgets and ensures a high level of fiscal control and accountability including estimates, gating, forecasts, and reconciliation/confirmation of actuals.
- Proactively identifies potential risk events and issues before they occur so that proper mitigating strategies can be developed.
- Articulates and prioritizes issues and risks at senior executive levels and recommends mitigation strategies for decision makers.
Experience and Skill Set Requirements
- Project Management Skills: Project Management experience, use of Project Management software, knowledge of latest developments and leading practices in the project management industry, experience in Waterfall and Agile project management methodologies, and experience in creating portfolio plans.
- Communication/Soft Skills: Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, verbal and written communication skills, interpersonal and negotiation skills, and demonstrated experience preparing and distributing project updates and progress reports.
- Stakeholder Management & Leadership: Able to establish and manage stakeholder relationships, communicate in business language and with technology expertise, and appropriately assign work packages to assigned resources.
