Brainhunter is currently seeking a Project Manager to work for our valued Financial Service Client. The position requires the successful candidate to be on-site 3 days a week in either Toronto, Winnipeg, or London.
Qualifications and Competencies:
- 7+ years of experience as a Project Manager in a technology delivery environment.
- Experience working with insurance policy administration systems, such as Ingenium, and a strong knowledge of insurance products or wealth management.
- Experience with delivering technology projects and strategy/governance initiatives.
- Advanced knowledge in managing multiple large and complex projects and teams.
- Ability to quickly acquire new knowledge and apply creative problem-solving skills, aligned with organizational vision and values.
- Proven track record in managing the full project lifecycle for multiple initiatives, ensuring successful delivery within scope, schedule, budget, and stakeholder expectations.
- Ability to work effectively in ambiguous environments and adapt to change rapidly.
- Strong decision-making skills in complex or uncertain situations.
- Entrepreneurial mindset with a focus on delivering business outcomes, managing risks, and scope changes effectively.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
Role Description:
The Portfolio Management and Governance team within Individual Wealth, Technology is seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead projects supporting our Wealth, Insurance, Advisory Network, and Operations teams. This role is ideal for someone passionate about leading teams to deliver high-quality software in a fast-paced environment.
You will collaborate closely with business and technology teams, including senior specialists, developers, testers, and project partners, to deliver working software based on industry best practices. Continuous learning and knowledge sharing are vital for success.
Responsibilities:
- Lead large, high-risk, and complex projects, coordinating with business and technology leaders, teams, and external parties.
- Ensure project deliverables align with business case and organizational goals.
- Mentor and coach less experienced project managers in project management methodologies.
- Develop project charters, including scope, objectives, approach, success criteria, stakeholder engagement, and communication plans.
- Create and manage integrated project plans, budgets, and resource estimates, using appropriate estimation models.
- Manage project budgets, costs, and financial forecasts.
- Collaborate with governance stakeholders to ensure compliance with risk and organizational standards.
- Conduct risk planning and analysis, including risk identification and response strategies.
- Track project progress, communicate updates, and manage stakeholder expectations.
- Support organizational change initiatives and process improvements.
- Identify opportunities to enhance team efficiency and project delivery.
