The role involves hands-on machine repairs, optimizing injection molding productivity, and collaborating with various teams. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Engineering and experience in project and process engineering. This full-time, onsite position offers a competitive pay range of $35.00 - $40.00/hr.

Job Title: Project Engineer

We are seeking a dedicated Project Engineer to join our Plastics Group. This role will involve hands-on machine repairs, injection molding productivity, and collaborating with various teams to ensure efficient production.

Responsibilities
  • Attend quality meetings to stay informed and contribute to continuous improvement.
  • Perform hands-on machine repairs to ensure molds meet correct specifications.
  • Optimize injection molding productivity by managing tooling changes and scheduling backups.
  • Support the maintenance team during downtimes and communicate effectively with vendors.
  • Engage in cost-based assignments, focusing on cost reduction and collaborating with recycling vendors.
  • Lead safety initiatives by conducting risk assessments, providing safety training on equipment, and ensuring safe processes.
Essential Skills
  • Bachelor\'s degree in Engineering or a related field.
  • Experience in project management, mechanical engineering, and process engineering.
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot on the shop floor - root cause and corrective action
  • Experience with plastic injection molding and automotive manufacturing processes.
  • Familiarity with PPAP, quality control
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Vendor management skills.
  • Understanding of installation, scheduling planning, implementation, and test procedures.
Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Cambridge, Ontario.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $40.00/hr.
