A leading nonprofit organization in Victoria is seeking a Program Manager to oversee educational program development and volunteer coordination. The Local Government Management Association of British Columbia (LGMA), located on the traditional territories of the lək̓ʷəŋən (Lekwungen) Peoples, also known as the Xʷsepsəm (Kosapsum) and Songhees Nation, is an independent non-profit organization that has been providing professional development and training for local government professionals across B.C. for over 100 years.

Position Summary
This position will appeal to an experienced professional who would enjoy managing a complex mix of educational design, program management, coordinating volunteer guest faculty, and building connections with the help of a supportive team. This position operates with a high degree of independence, models integrity in serving local government to the highest ethical standard, and maintains the Association’s strong reputation. You are a strong decision maker, yet you know when to engage peers or escalate a decision to the Executive Director. You develop and maintain a broad network of cooperative relationships and effectively liaise with volunteers, subject matter experts, and internal and external partners. You have excellent problem solving, communication, and change management skills, with the ability to exercise a high degree of judgment in situations of uncertainty or shifting priorities. You enjoy periodic travel to locations around B.C. to deliver programs or to national locations to attend professional development opportunities.

We are looking for a self-motivated leader with a post-secondary degree in Business, Public Administration, Adult Education or a related discipline, and a demonstrated history of related experience with:
Preference will be given to candidates with content development experience utilizing virtual software and learning management systems. Understanding of local government operations and the local and First Nations government systems in BC is an asset.
Compensation
This is a 35 hour per week position. The compensation for this position is $48.53/hour ($88,324 annually) in addition to a comprehensive benefit package and flexible working hours.
