Job responsibilities
  • Identify and solicit new clients, manage a sales territory and create plans to achieve or exceed annual sales targets.
  • Quote and negotiate prices, credit terms and service agreements and prepare and process sales orders and contracts.
  • Build and nurture relationships with existing and potential customers across the commercial sports and municipal sectors, offer customized turf solutions by conducting on-site consultations.
  • Handle customer complaints and technical problems in a timely and effective manner to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Showcase the features and benefits of products through sales presentations, product trials and educational events like grower meetings or webinars.
  • Manage your sales pipeline from prospecting to close, logging customer interactions and tracking inventory to ensure a seamless sales cycle.
  • Collaborate with our production team to ensure timely delivery and quality assurance for our customers.
  • Stay informed about market trends, emerging turf grass varieties and competitive offerings to maintain your expertise.
  • Drive brand presence and cultivate relationships at industry events and trade shows.
  • Update the Marketing team with the latest technical news and client testimonials to help us maintain a relevant and current social media presence.
  • Collaborate closely with the Divisional Manager keeping them informed on sales pipeline progress and market opportunities through regular reports and strategic conversations.
Qualifications
  • Secondary School Diploma or equivalent required
  • 4 years of experience in turf industry sales; seed experience is preferred
  • Must have a valid driver's license and be willing to travel
  • Physical ability to occasionally lift up to 50 lbs and work outdoors in various weather conditions
  • Proficiency in presentation development, project management and the Microsoft Office Suite
Compensation and Benefits

This position comes with a competitive compensation plan that includes a base salary, benefits, company vehicle, Group RRSP option with company matching program and potential for bonus. Compensation will be based on experience.
