Overview
Reporting to the Production Manager, the Production Supervisor is responsible for supervising and coordinating the activities of employees engaged in various areas of the manufacturing process. You will:
Responsibilities
- Ensure your team is motivated, capable, well trained and efficient to ensure targets and high standards are achieved
- Maintain accurate record keeping related to staff, monitoring of health and safety through PPE checks, hazard awareness and monitoring best practice
- Monitor quality and efficiency standards, rectifying issues where possible and notifying Line Manager of any issues that need escalating
- Monitor stock levels, material supply and material utilization using SAP system, if required
- Inspecting all areas of work on a daily basis identifying any areas requiring specific attention and act accordingly
- Lead the team by example, making sure all the team follows correct PPE and food safety standards at all times
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of supervisory experience
- Experience in a unionized and/or food manufacturing environment would be considered an asset
- Experience supervising a team of up to 40 employees
- Experience working with SAP or similar systems
- Strong knowledge on KPI’s, Health and Safety, Food Safety, Quality, HACCP, Waste Rate and Run Rate
- Sound knowledge in OH&S systems
- Excellent leadership, change management, organization and problem solving skills
- Ability to work rotating shifts - typically 2 weeks days and 2 weeks afternoons
- Strong written and verbal skills to communicate with all levels of the organization and the leadership team
