Job description
POSITION SUMMARY

Conduct Quality Control Inspection assuring company standards are maintained and product integrity is preserved. Consult with plant management to resolve quality, production, and efficiency problems. Function as an information source to customers and various company departments when special and critical quality issues occur.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Maintain and communicate external and internal quality data
  • Maintain product quality specifications.
  • Root cause analysis and problem solving related to internal and external quality problems
  • Adhere to and maintain quality records
  • Develop and maintain process (Standard Work Instruction) documentation.
  • Conduct and supervise product and process audits.
  • Manage FAIR sample process.
  • Train and coach production employees as needed.
  • Work with production supervisors and trainer on standard work and quality specifications
EXPERIENCE/SKILLS
  • Good process/product knowledge throughout the plant.
  • Quality control/assurance experience a plus.
  • Understanding of Northern Contours' and customer specific quality specifications.
  • Good time management and organizational skills.
  • Knowledge and experience in using problem solving tools.
  • Process improvement experience. Lean manufacturing experience a plus.
  • Ability to communicate with customers and other department and functional areas as needed.
  • Ability to understand and use Data Tools
WORK ENVIRONMENT
  • Manufacturing environment which requires precaution, training and safety equipment (including safety glasses, ear plugs, closed toe shoes, gloves, etc.).
  • Frequent exposure to moving mechanical parts while performing job.
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be able to move and handle product without damage to the product.
  • Must be able to perform repetitive tasks while staying focused.
  • Must be able to stand for eight (8) hours or more per day, with bending and twisting.
  • Must be able to lift, push or pull up fifty (50) pounds.
  • Must be able to use hands and fingers, to handle or feel objects, tools or controls.
  • Must be able to walk, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, talk and hear.
  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
