THE ROLE

As the (Sr.) Director, Technical Development Department, you will lead the team to:

  • Work with the appropriate Business Support partners to seamlessly lead the day-to‑day function of the department in support of corporate objectives, while enabling progressive career development and an incredible employee experience.
  • Determinethe approach for developing product that fulfills the design vision
  • Ensure that our product delivers a consistent and superior fit
  • Ensure that our product executes with best‑in‑class construction
  • Ensure fit samples best align with the creative design vision while addressing any limitations
  • Bring life to our product samples to ensure wearable,functionaland flattering fits
  • Effectively manage andoptimizethe day-to‑day operations of technical development
  • Workwith theappropriate BusinessSupport partners to seamlessly lead the day-to‑day function of the department in support of corporateobjectives, while enabling progressive career development andan incredibleemployee experience
THE QUALIFICATIONS

The (Sr.) Director, Technical Development, has:

  • Proven and best-in-class skills, applicable certifications, education and/or experience in:
    • Knowledge of 2D patternmaking and translation into physical garments
    • Sample measurement, construction, and execution evaluation
    • Live model and dressform garment fitting assessment and corrections
    • Garment fit and construction communication using sketches, imagery, and technical language
    • PLM system and patternmaking software experience
  • A commitment to learn, apply, champion and enrich Aritzia's Values and Business and People Leadership principles
  • The skills to collaborate strategically with cross‑functional partners in the pursuit of shared business outcomes
  • The ability to set clear objectives and design a strategy that inspires the team

THE COMPENSATION

The typical hiring range for this position is $150,000- $250,000 per year. The final agreed upon salary may vary based on factors such as job‑related knowledge, skills and experience. Additionally, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity.
