Job description

An automotive plastics parts manufacturer in the area of Woodstock, ON is currently searching for a Process Engineer to join their team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for optimizing manufacturing processes for plastic components used in automotive applications. This role drives continuous improvement in productivity, quality, and cost efficiency while ensuring compliance with industry standards and customer requirements.

This is a full time, and direct hire position with an excellent benefits package. This role is 100% on-site.

Product Engineer Responsibilities
  • Support product research and development activities and manage development projects from concept through completion
  • Develop new materials and manufacturing processes based on customer needs and market trends
  • Plan and execute development projects including design of experiments (DOE), prototyping, testing, and data analysis
  • Prepare and deliver technical presentations to internal teams and external customers, including OEMs
  • Conduct benchmarking and analysis of competitor and existing automotive interior parts for safety, performance, and feasibility
  • Follow PDCA methodology while supporting environmental initiatives and ensuring compliance with environmental regulations
  • Other duties as assigned
Design Engineer Qualifications
  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field, or completion of a minimum three-year advanced engineering diploma
  • Experience with CAD software such as CATIA V5, Unigraphics, or SolidWorks
  • Knowledge of automotive development and quality processes (PPAP, APQP, DFMEA, PFMEA)
  • Strong understanding of plastics and automotive interior/exterior materials (injection molding experience is an asset)
  • 3–5 years of experience in engineering product development and project coordination to meet customer standards
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills; ability to manage multiple projects and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders (second language is an asset)
