Overview

Sterling is partnering with a leading manufacturing company to hire a Process and Manufacturing Engineering Manager for their state-of-the-art facility in Burlington, WA. This is a high-impact leadership role focused on optimizing manufacturing processes, driving continuous improvement, and supporting new product introductions in a fast-paced, highly automated environment.

Compensation

$90,000 – $105,000/year + 15% Annual Bonus Eligibility

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and mentor a high-performing engineering team, fostering a culture of accountability, innovation, and technical excellence.
  • Develop and sustain manufacturing processes, procedures, and standards to maximize efficiency, quality, and safety.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives using Lean, Kaizen, PFMEA, and Value Stream Mapping (VSM).
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to transition new products from R&D to full-scale production.
  • Manage engineering projects including planning, budgeting, and scheduling.
  • Troubleshoot automation systems, robotics, PLCs, and HMIs.
  • Support equipment installation, debugging, and ongoing optimization.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards and regulatory requirements (NEC, NFPA 70, etc.).
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s in Mechanical, Mechatronics, Industrial, Electrical, Electronics, or Manufacturing Engineering.
  • Minimum 3+ years of leadership experience in automated manufacturing.
  • Experience with SPC, PFMEA, VSM, and statistical tools for process optimization.
  • Strong project management, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Familiarity with robotics, PLCs (Control Logix), VFDs, HMIs, and AutoCAD.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
