The Opportunity

The City of St. Albert is recruiting an individual to join our Public Operations department as a Process Analyst. Reporting to the Senior Process Analyst this position will be responsible for the evaluation and development of applications, workflows and initiatives that improve efficiencies in core organizational functions through business improvements, automation, technology, and mobility.

Responsibilities
  • Act as the technical expert for the Enterprise Asset Management System (EAMS), optimizing its use through support, design, development, and implementation.
  • Analyze, design, develop, and administer new solutions, data models, reports / dashboards and workflows to improve on organizational efficiencies and productivity.
  • Assist with forecasting, budgeting and strategic decision making.
  • Resolve any data-related discrepancies and ensure that all ongoing operational data is entered with a high level of data integrity and accuracy.
  • Provide application, operational and administrative support to the EAMS, Fleet Fuelling Software, and the Automated Vehicle Locator (AVL), as well as other areas within Public Works, Transit, and Utilities.

There is a significant amount of coordination and liaison required in this role, so we are seeking an individual who is collaborative and personable, with strong communication and organizational skills. The individual we seek is solution-oriented and thrives in a dynamic work environment where innovative approaches are often required.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field.
  • A minimum of 3 years experience in business analysis, business process, systems development, data analytics and forecasting. Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • Business Analysis Professional Certification is an asset.
  • Microsoft 365 and Power Platform, SQL, general understanding of computer programming languages such as VBA, Python or C#.
  • Significant experience with data modelling and reporting, particularly in Excel, Power BI and Power Query.
  • Demonstrated skills in facilitation of groups with competing interests and priorities.
  • Understanding of Public Works, Transit, Utilities, and municipal operations is an asset.
  • Equivalent combinations of experience and education may be considered.
Hours of Work
  • We offer a compressed bi-weekly work schedule of 72 hours, Monday - Friday, 8:00 – 5:00, with a biweekly regular day off (RDO).
  • Benefit from flexible work hours by adjusting your start and end times by 30 or 60 minutes around our core hours of 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Compensation
  • The salary ranges from $66,540 - $81,894 per annum, including a comprehensive benefits package not including LTD or Pension.

  • Candidates not meeting the full qualifications may be considered for a development opportunity at a lower classification and salary.

Term

This is a term position from October 2025 to January 2028, with the possibility of an extension.
