Job description
Overview

Vanguard School is seeking an elementary school lunch facilitator. Under the authority of the Student Life Coordinator, the lunch facilitator is the person who supervises and supports students during lunch.

Required profile
  • Hold a Secondary 5 diploma or hold a diploma or certificate of studies whose equivalence is recognized.
  • Be available during the elementary school lunch periods, from 11 a.m. to 12 : 30 p.m.;
  • Have experience in facilitating and intervening with young people;
  • Proficiency in spoken and written French and good knowledge of English;
  • Ability to work in a team.
Tasks
  • In collaboration with the team of facilitators, plan and lead activities during the lunch recess period;
  • Supervise students in the various classrooms grouping;
  • Exercise preventive and active surveillance by informing students about the regulations in force and corrective surveillance by sanctioning inappropriate behavior according to the rules in force;
  • Ensure follow-up of punitive and restorative measures;
  • Intervene when the situation requires it;
  • Communicate any problematic situations to teachers, the student life coordinator or the administration;
  • Ensure compliance with the school code of conduct;
  • As needed, perform other related tasks.
