Job description
Posting on Social media. Take full responsibility for posting on social media for a local respected non-profit organization. Content is summarized from a weekly/bi-weekly newsletter about environmental awareness for Edmonton and area.

2-4 hours/ weekly

6 months or longer

Every one to two weeks, one of our volunteer team members publishes an approximately 600-800 word weekly newsletter containing several interesting and intriguing articles each with a photo and a couple of paragraphs of text, discussing something of interest relevant to Edmonton's river valley. The newsletter goes to 2,200 regular subscribers and it raises awareness for the value and importance of the river valley to the city and the public for current and future generations.Last year the NSRVCS was a finalist for the 33rd Annual Emerald Awards for this weekly informative newsletter, called the River Valley News. The newsletter is distributed via the NSRVCS MailChimp account.Prior copies of the newsletter can be found here: https://www.edmontonrivervalley.org/newsletterThe NSRVCS team member who authors and edits the newsletter needs help from another volunteer to create content from the weekly/bi-weekly newsletter, summarize it, use any appropriate newsletter photos, and post to the NSRVCS Instagram, Facebook, and X (Twitter) social media accounts. The NSRVCS is an entirely volunteer board. We would ask that whomever volunteers for the social media posting responsibilities attempts to take on this role for at least 6 months and after that period evaluate if they want to continue or not. A volunteer could start anytime, working with the team member who is currently doing the newsletter, however we were looking to fill the position no later than January 2026.Thank youStephen MadsenPresident NSRVCS
