Salary: At Wawanesa, salary is only one component of a holistic, comprehensive and competitive offering that we provide to our employees. The salary offered for this role is determined with consideration to various factors, including but not limited to: your work location, local labour market conditions, external market salary data, internal pay equity and the knowledge, skills, experience and anticipated proficiency in the role. The salary offered is estimated to be within the following range: $44,000 - $48,000. Candidates with salary expectations outside of the range are still encouraged to apply.

Job Overview

The Policy Administration Specialist works collaboratively with other team members within the Wawanesa Life Financial Operations team and be responsible for the day-to-day accounting functions.

Job Responsibilities
  • Prepare cash application transactions and validation of cash receipt.
  • Prepare policyholder notices and follow-ups on customer inquiries.
  • Prepare daily and monthly reconciliations of general ledger suspense and other accounts.
  • Prepare and/or enter general ledger journal entries.
  • Prepare and/or enter cheque requisitions.
  • Process banking transactions with accuracy.
  • Collaborate with operational departments.
  • Investigate problem policies to identify appropriate course of action.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Accounting Certificate and/or one (1) of accounting experience.
  • Proficient in the use of MS Office software.
  • Demonstrated skills: collaboration across various teams, self-starter, time and deadline management, communication, and attention to detail.
  • Willing to learn and grow within the role.
  • Investigative skills and demonstrated sound judgement.
