Qualifications

  • Valid driver’s license.

About the role:

Reporting to the Supervisor, Mine Maintenance, the Plumber or Pipefitter / Gas Fitter is responsible for performing regular preventive maintenance, diagnostics, troubleshooting and repair of appliances, equipment, and accessories for a variety of facilities and systems at our Greenhills Operation. This is a full‑time hourly position that offers an attractive 4x4 day shift schedule. Come experience what work life balance is all about!

The position is site‑based at our operations in the Elk Valley, and the ability to reliably commute to or relocate near Elkford, B.C. is necessary.

In this role you will:
  • Participate in and adhere to health and safety programs and policies
  • Perform regular preventive maintenance, diagnostics and complete repairs on HVAC units, boilers and water and waste disposal systems
  • Troubleshoot all system problems including disassembly and reassembly of system components
  • Maintain, create and record work order records
  • In certain components of this role, it is mandatory to wear a respirator which requires an interference free seal.
Requirements:
  • Valid Interprovincial Red Seal Plumber or Pipefitter certification
  • Class B Gas Fitting certification (or higher)
  • Willingness to pursue a certification as a Class A Gas fitter
  • Small Water and Small Wastewater systems ticket would be an asset
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Working knowledge of basic computer systems (Microsoft Office®)
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and project specifications
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team and to work cross functionally between trades
  • Experience in a mining environment is an asset
