Flexibility is the name of the game with 7.5-hour shifts starting at 7, 7:30, 8, or 9 am. Weekend shifts are scheduled between 8am-4pm. Duties
  • Drug distribution to all clinical areas of our four hospitals, including, but not limited to, dispensing patient specific orders, stocking automated dispensing cabinets, and verifying accuracy as part of “tech-check-tech”.
  • Drug repackaging.
  • Sterile compounding, including, but not limited to, parenteral nutrition, CADD cassettes, and antibiotic syringes.
  • Non-sterile compounding.
  • Maintenance of perpetual drug inventory.
  • Maintenance of crash cart inventory.
  • Entry of physician’s/prescriber’s orders in to Meditech’s pharmacy module.
  • Generating BPMH from patient interview and other information sources, and reconciling against admission orders.
  • Recording workload.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
  • Must be registered with the Ontario College of Pharmacists as a Pharmacy Technician, or as a Pharmacy Technician Intern. For Pharmacy Technician Interns, registration as a Pharmacy Technician must be completed within six months of hire.
  • New grads must be registered for both the PEBC and PACE before date of hire.
  • Capable of coping with a physically demanding workload (Physical Demands Analysis available to review).
  • For internal candidates, disciplinary and attendance records will be considered.
