Job summary

A leading home care provider is seeking Personal Support Workers (PSWs) in Barrie and surrounding areas to deliver compassionate care. Successful candidates will provide personal support, utilize lifts for client transfers, and monitor care plans. The position offers competitive pay at $21-$24/hr, benefits for those working 30+ hours/week, and flexible scheduling. Candidates must have PSW certification, valid First Aid/CPR, and a recent Police Check.

Job description

We are seeking PSWs for LTC in the Barrie AND SURROUNDING areas to provide care. Shifts may vary from mornings to evenings and every other weekend. We are seeking casual individuals who are available to pick up shifts as needed.

Job Benefits:

  • Competitive pay at $21-$24/hr **based on experience
  • Benefits Plan availableafter working 30+ hours per week*
  • 4% Vacation Pay on every pay
  • Flexible hours and schedule
  • 4 hour shift minimum

The successful candidate’s areas of responsibility will include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Provide personal care
  • Utilize lifts in the home to transfer clients
  • Providingcognitive, social, emotional, and spiritual support
  • Provide behavioural support and crisis intervention
  • Maintaining open communication with client and their family
  • Monitoring care plan and adding documentation with any changes and updates
  • Responding to all emergency situations
  • All other duties, as assigned

Key qualifications for this position will include, but are not limited to:

  • PSW certification is required
  • Valid First Aid/CPR certificate
  • Completion of a Police Vulnerable Sector Check within last 6 months
  • CPI training is an asset**
  • Drivers License and own insured vehicle is an asset**
  • Satisfactory professional references
  • Ability toaccurately follow written and verbal instructions
  • Must be able to anticipate problems and use sound judgment and tact in handling confidential matters
