Return of Service (ROS): $10,000 to recent PSW graduates in exchange for a 12-month commitment to work full-time in a long-term care home or within the community.

Qualifications
  • Valid Certificate as a Personal Support Worker (PSW)
  • RN or RPN
  • Nursing student (2 clinical placements completed)
  • Valid Developmental Support Worker Certificate
  • Foreign trained healthcare professional - Nurse
Requirements
  • A valid driver’s license and vehicle.
  • Current CPR Certificate level C and First Aid certificate
  • Current immunization record (TB test completed within the past 12 months) is required upon hire
  • Current vulnerable sector check screening is required upon hire
  • Certificate in Advanced Palliative Practice Skills for support workers or willing to take the course
  • Availability to work nights (11pm to 7am) and every other weekend.
  • This is a physically demanding position and requires hand, arm and shoulder dexterity, sensory ability, lifting to a maximum of approximately fifty-five (55) pounds, walking, climbing stairs, standing, bending, reaching, and frequent movement
Eligibility for ROS

New Graduates:

  • Successfully complete an Ontario PSW training program at a publicly-assisted college, career college, district school board or Indigenous Institute that meets the 2022 program standard established by the Ontario Ministry of Colleges and Universities, on or after April 1, 2023
  • Begin employment with a participating employer between April 1, 2024 and March 31, 2026
  • Commit to 12 months of employment at a full-time work schedule offered by a participating employer

OR

Previous Graduates (NEW):

  • Have previously trained as a PSW
  • For the past 12 months, have not worked in a role providing direct patient, client or resident care as part of an organization providing health care or long-term care services in Ontario
  • Begin employment with a participating employer between November 18, 2024 and March 31, 2026
  • Commit to 12 months of employment at a full-time work schedule offered by a participating employer
