Ontario Shores Centre for Mental Health Sciences (Ontario Shores) is a public teaching hospital located in Whitby, Ontario, dedicated to providing specialized mental health care for individuals with complex mental illnesses. Ontario Shores offers a full spectrum of inpatient and outpatient services and leads in integrating clinical care with research, education, and innovation. As a center of excellence in mental health, Ontario Shores collaborates with patients, families, community partners, and academic institutions to transform lives and shape the future of mental health care in Ontario and beyond.

Position

Ontario Shores is seeking a visionary and dynamic Vice President, Clinical Services to join its Senior Management Team. Reporting directly to the President and CEO, the Vice President will provide strategic and operational leadership across a broad portfolio that includes Administrative Director, Assessment & Reintegration Program (ARP), Geriatric Programs, Adolescent and Dual Diagnosis Services, Pharmacy, Outpatient Services, Integrated Health Services, Peer Support and Recovery College, Vocational Services, and Ethics. This role contributes to a positive and collaborative workplace culture and drives the hospital’s mission and vision by advancing clinical excellence, fostering innovation, and ensuring a coordinated, patient-centered approach across all areas of care.

Responsibilities

As a key member of the executive team, the Vice President will help shape and implement organizational priorities in alignment with the Board’s strategic directions. The leader will champion a culture of continuous quality improvement and patient safety, and foster strong collaboration across internal teams and external partners. The position includes executive responsibility for Ontario Shores’ ethics portfolio, supporting the integration of ethical practices throughout clinical and organizational decision-making.

Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in nursing, social or health sciences (PhD preferred).
  • Progressive career in senior healthcare leadership within complex, integrated care environments.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of mental health theory and practice, regulatory frameworks, and evidence-based care models.
  • Transformational and inclusive leadership with a track record of driving strategic initiatives, strengthening interprofessional collaboration, and enhancing patient outcomes.
