PASS – Purchasing Analyst

The Waterloo Catholic District School Board serves over 38,000 learners and provides services to students in 50 schools (Kindergarten to Grade 12 and adult learners) across the Waterloo Region.

General Description Of Duties

Reporting to the Manager of Procurement, the Purchasing Analyst is responsible for all supply functions in assigned commodity areas using the most efficient, effective, and appropriate procurement methods. The Purchasing Analyst multi‑tasks while assisting with several client‑driven supply projects, whilst maintaining and managing internal WCDSB purchasing functions – Purchase Orders, Pcard program, and government curated contracts.

Minimum Requirements
  • Post‑secondary education (Diploma/Degree) in General Business or Materials Management and Operations or relevant previous school board Supply Chain Management experience.
  • Demonstrated knowledge or experience working in a multi‑site public sector supply chain operation environment.
  • Outstanding organizational, prioritization, and multi‑tasking skills, working in a fast‑paced environment with frequent interruptions.
  • Strong skills in the use of technology, including MS365 products.
  • Solid decision‑making skills and outstanding judgment, including discretion in the management of confidential information.
  • Ability to self‑motivate and to work both independently and with teams, with high personal standards representative of the Board's commitment to excellence.
  • Experience with meeting deadlines, streamlining work processes, and working cooperatively.
  • Strong problem‑solving, analytical and investigative research skills.
Desirable Assets
  • Knowledge of MS Dynamics NAV.
  • Knowledge of social procurement practices in the public sector.
  • Financial/Pcards.
  • 3 years of Materials Management, Supply Chain Management Operations, or School Board Procurement experience.
Salary Range

PASS Level 3: $69,591.53 – $81,870.19 per year in accordance with the PASS Terms of Employment.

Hours of Work

Permanent full‑time; 35 hours per week / 52 weeks per year.

Location(s)

Catholic Education Centre; 35 Weber St. Kitchener.
