We are hiring a Part‑Time Security Guard to safeguard Kingston’s Norman Rogers Airport (YGK Airport). The role involves maintaining a visible and alert security presence, assisting the public, and ensuring compliance with airport protocols.
Position Details

- Hours: Friday 10:00‑15:00, Saturday 01:30‑06:00, 10:00‑15:00, Sunday 01:30‑06:00, 10:00‑15:00
- Payrate: $22.14/hr

Site Description
Also known as the Norman Rogers Airport, YGK Airport serves Kingston’s diverse and growing community. Located approximately eight kilometres west of Kingston’s historic downtown, the airport has a rich history and a promising future. YGK is the three‑letter location code for Kingston Airport.
Job Responsibilities
- Present a smart, visible, and alert security presence
- Greet, assist, and direct members of the public visiting the premises
- Ensure all staff, visitors, and vendors are following the protocols for YGK Airport
- Assist visitors as necessary with wayfinding as required
- Proactive, consistent patrols inside and outside the airport
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment while maintaining the utmost professionalism
- Strong interpersonal skills, flexible, and customer‑service oriented
- Remain calm and effectively perform in emergency situations
- Able to understand and follow specific instructions and procedures
- Report writing and note taking
- Access control for restricted areas of the property
- Additional job duties as assigned
Job Requirements
- Valid Security License for Ontario
- Valid First Aid & CPR – Level C (from a WSIB‑approved vendor)
- VSC and CRJMC 6 months or newer
- Able to sit/stand for extended periods of time
- Able to complete extensive patrolling of site
- Proficient English communication (oral and written) required
- Must be able to provide certifications in Use of Force (UoF) and Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB)
- Applicants lacking these certifications can opt into Paladin’s UoF/MOAB training program prior to their onboarding training to ensure they meet the position’s requirements
- The UoF/MOAB training is not paid as it is a pre‑requisite; however, Paladin will cover all training costs with a 6‑month commitment to the position/availability
