A security services company in Chatham is looking for a Part-Time Security Guard to conduct patrols, monitor premises, and provide customer service. Responsibilities
  • Working on assigned shifts, provide proactive and reactive security patrols on foot and in a marked vehicle.
  • Control access and egress to the property by signing in all visitors and enforce site policies.
  • Write daily reports and investigate routine incidents, as well as respond to emergencies in a quick and efficient manner.
  • Monitor CCTV cameras.
  • Conduct safety orientations.
  • Complete security patrols on foot through the parking lot and exterior property to deter wildlife.
  • Monitor and patrol the premises to ensure safety and security.
  • Perform regular security checks of the property, including parking areas, entrances, exits, and other designated areas.
  • Maintain a visible presence to deter unauthorized access or unlawful activities.
  • Control access at entry points and ensure only authorized personnel enter the premises.
  • Respond to alarms, disturbances, or emergencies and take appropriate actions as needed.
  • Assist in the enforcement of company policies and procedures, including monitoring and reporting any suspicious activities.
  • Report any incidents, accidents, or security breaches promptly to the management team.
  • Complete daily logs and security reports, documenting any unusual occurrences.
  • Provide assistance to employees, visitors, and vendors as needed.
  • Monitor surveillance cameras and security equipment, ensuring they are functioning properly.
  • Cooperate with local law enforcement, emergency services, and other authorities when necessary.
  • Ensure all safety equipment is properly maintained and ready for use.
  • Security personnel at this location are primary for emergency duties.
  • Security personnel are to be conversant with emergency duties and procedures.
  • Ability to utilize computer and various software including Microsoft Office and two-way radios.

Schedule and Compensation

Hours: Week #1 Sunday 11:00 - 12:00hrs and Thursday 00:00 - 08:00hrs

Week #2 Tuesday 00:00 - 08:00 and Saturday 00:00 - 12:00hrs

Payrate: $18.00/hour

Posting Date: September 19, 2025

Prerequisites
  • Valid Security License for the province of Ontario
  • Valid First Aid & CPR - Level C (from a WSIB-approved vendor)
  • English (oral and written) fluency is a must
  • Previous experience in security, law enforcement, or a related field preferred
  • Must possess excellent customer service skills
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills
  • Watch for and report irregularities by completing incident reports such as security breaches, facility safety hazards, and emergency situations; contact emergency services such as police, fire and ambulance personnel as required.
  • Must be able to provide certifications in Use of Force (UOF) and Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB)
  • Applicants lacking these certifications can opt into Paladin\'s UoF/MOAB training program prior to their onboarding training to ensure they meet the requirements of the position
  • Please be aware: The UoF/MOAB training is not paid as it is a pre-requisite; however, Paladin will cover all of the costs of the training with a 6-month commitment to the position/availability
  • Authorized to legally work in Canada

Standard First Aid, CPR Level C
Valid Ontario Security License
