Overview

Join the County of Elgin as a Part-Time Personal Support Worker at Elgin Manor!


Position Title: Personal Support Worker (PSW)


Type: Part-time


Compensation: $30.87 – $31.30/hour as per collective agreement


Elgin Manor "the home where the heart is" is a 90-bed long-term care facility located in the Township of Southwold just minutes outside of St. Thomas, Ontario.


About The Role

As a certified Personal Support Worker, you will play a vital role in our residents’ daily lives. You’ll be joining a dedicated care team that works collaboratively to support dignity, safety, and overall well-being through established job routines.


Your Responsibilities Include


  • Providing personal care such as bathing, dressing, and transfers

  • Assisting with meals and nutrition support

  • Tidying resident rooms and common areas

  • Performing minor treatments and reporting health observations

  • Responding to call bells with attentiveness and empathy

  • Participating in care planning through daily reports

  • Supporting inclusive, respectful, and equitable care delivery

  • Additional duties as assigned


Qualifications


  • Completion of a Personal Support Worker certificate program from a recognized post-secondary institution.

  • Must be willing to further training/education of the Personal Support Worker field through in-services, etc.

  • Proof of registration with the Health and Supportive Care Providers Oversight Authority (HSCPOA) preferred.

  • Familiarity with:

    • Health & Safety Procedures

    • Resident Bill of Rights

    • Fixing Long-Term Care Act, 2021

    • Point Click Care



  • Demonstrates a commitment to the delivery of safe, efficient care to the personal needs of residents.
