Parking/ONE Card/Campus Store Support - Regular Part Time

Status: Regular Part Time

Hours: Up to 24 hours/week

Home Campus: Fennell (fully on-site)

Rate of Pay: $20.29 per hour, plus 6% in lieu of vacation

Job Summary

Working under the supervision of Manager Parking, Printing and ONE Card, the incumbent will work out of the consolidated ONE Card, Parking and Campus Store location and is responsible for Parking, ONE Card and Campus retail operations, providing information and resolution for all items related to Parking Services and use of parking facilities by the College Community, as well as the issuing of staff/student ONE Cards. This position is responsible for ONE Card/Parking, including assisting cardholders with problems, printing cards and deactivating cards. In addition, the incumbent supports Campus Store operations, including processing sales and refunds through the POS system, handling customer inquiries, and assisting with inventory and merchandising. The incumbent also monitors the parking lot, maintains gate arms and payment kiosks and issues parking tickets.

The incumbent is responsible for providing in-person service to staff, students, and visitors to the College. These duties include receiving and processing payments, responding to a wide range of inquiries concerning College parking procedures, regulations, infractions, and providing general parking information, as well as all ONE Card and Campus Store related service inquiries. This position also includes data entry into the parking and ONE Card systems: AIMS permit software, CALE pay stations, Touchnet Heartland ONE Card system; and using the Bookware inventory management system for Campus Store operations. Responsibilities include the daily operations of paid parking such as the issuance of parking permits; maintenance of databases related to the ONE Card; and Campus Store tasks such as handling incoming and outgoing shipments, stocking merchandise, and coordinating transfers to satellite locations. Other key duties include troubleshooting both parking and ONE Card software and hardware issues, including ONE Card printers, mobile applications, parking pay machines, as well as POS hardware and software for Campus Store operations.

What you’ll be doing

Parking

  • Selling and issuing permits, credit and debit card transactions, using stand-alone AIMS parking system, credit, and debit card equipment.
  • Balancing/reconciling daily financial records from Fennell and Stoney Creek campuses for deposit to Accounting
  • Canceling infraction notices when there is an error in the issue of a notice.
  • Processing and responding to all internal special parking requests
  • Operating the LPR (license Plate Recognition) system and monitoring the lots
  • Issuing parking infractions in accordance with the Mohawk College Traffic and Parking Regulations policy
  • Directing traffic in the lots as required for special events
  • Monitoring and maintaining Parking permit payment kiosks
ONE Card
  • Addressing cardholder issues, such as problems with ONE Cards, tap readers, ONE Card terminals, etc., following guidelines and troubleshooting procedures.
  • Transferring submitted photos to the ONE Card system from the web based submission program.
  • Updating the print server with the new ISO numbers generated from printing a new card
  • Troubleshooting hardware and software related issues internally.
  • Daily office tasks – deposits, reports, and ONE Card terminal maintenance
  • Issuance of staff and student ID cards
Campus Store
  • Operating of P.O.S. cash register system, processing sales, refunds and inquiries
  • Communication with Buyers, Retail Coordinator, Manager and other store staff including other campuses regarding inventory, merchandising, store processes and customer requests.
  • Handling of incoming and outgoing shipments and transfers including counting stock and placing merchandise on the selling floor as well as picking and packing merchandise for transfer to satellite locations.
  • Responsible to use Bookware inventory management system in order to locate or establish status of merchandise.

What you’ll bring to the role
  • 2-year diploma in Business Administration or Police Foundations
  • 2 years of related work experience
  • Experience with campus parking operations and customer support
  • Familiarity with AIMS parking software; experience with AIMS Mobile considered an asset
  • Training or experience with Genetec LPR hardware/software
  • Parking fine enforcement knowledge or training
  • Ability to operate and troubleshoot Hub Parking gate systems
  • Technical support skills for parking-related hardware/software issues
  • Experience with ID card printing and management
  • Knowledge of Touchnet/Heartland software, including mobile applications
  • Technical support skills for ONECard hardware/software systems
  • Previous customer service and retail experience
  • Familiarity with Bookware POS systems
  • De-escalation training
  • Mobile application setup and troubleshooting

  • Zebra ZXP 7 printer maintenance training, used to assess and fix problems on site.
