Position: Overhead Crane Technician
Reports To: Branch Manager
Employee Type: Full-time
Pay Range: $25.00 - $32.00 an hour
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
- Troubleshoot, repair, and inspect overhead cranes and hoists.
- Perform scheduled preventive maintenance activities on equipment.
- Support customers by effectively interfacing with customers and the office in repairing equipment as needed.
- Evaluate and make recommendations regarding required repairs for customers.
- Maintain rapport with customers by examining complaints, identifying solutions, suggesting improved methods, and recommending system improvements.
- Service overhead crane systems by performing quality installations, OSHA/ANSI equivalent inspections, documenting warranty work, troubleshooting breakdowns, performing preventive maintenance, and responding to repair calls.
- Document service and installation actions by completing forms, reports, and inspection checklists.
- Build and maintain customer confidence by maintaining good response time, informing customers of problems, and completing jobs promptly.
- Maintain professional presentation, timeliness, appearance, and organization in all areas.
Required Skills and Knowledge
- 480v motor controls, electrical troubleshooting, and installation
- Variable Frequency Drives, AC & DC brake circuits
- Work at heights

- Ability to work under pressure and deadlines
- Ability to work independently and with others
- Ability to fabricate and weld structures (structural welding certification preferred)
- Ability to perform inspections to OSHA/ANSI criteria
- Ability to troubleshoot electrical circuits, single or three phase, AC or DC
- Ability to assemble and repair complex machinery
