Job Overview
  • Manages various IT Projects, Enhancements/ initiatives for IT infrastructure, network, telecommunication, hybrid cloud, high availability, Disaster recovery environments, including emergent technologies for deploying, managing & maintaining Life cycle management of Infrastructure in compliance with the scope, budget, and schedules. Project reporting, resource management and risk management as directed to ensure projects and sub-components.
  • Outline project goals, terms of reference, resource requirements, and costs. Help create a resource plan that ensures all stakeholders have a voice on the project. Assess the efficiency of the practices and procedures used by a team and provide guidance that will continuously improve the project plan.
  • Lead the execution of technical projects, coordinating with multiple partners, vendors, technology teams, application owners, and business partners.
  • Manage projects through all phases, from business case creation to implementation, adhering to governance framework and standards.
  • Ensure projects are completed on time and within budget while meeting delivery objectives.
  • Identify, analyze, mitigate, document, and control project risks and issues, bringing up to management as needed.
  • Responsible for managing IT projects, internal initiatives, including IT enhancements, IT Infrastructure life cycle management, and IT Operations.
  • Applies best practice project management processes and practices
  • Manages the project funds dedicated to the delivery of the assigned project; assists Vendor Management to negotiate amendments to contractual obligations with vendors
  • Ensures that all project cost and scheduled activities are identified, continuously monitored, and clarifications/changes managed properly to maintain adherence to schedule and budget
  • Establishes, manages, and directs resources to ensure the necessary level and capabilities are represented on the project to ensure successful delivery of the initiative
  • Conduct thorough risk management for all project risks and opportunities
  • Lead the project team and may perform some line manager responsibilities.
  • Ensure that the project meets all objectives for quality and looks continuously for quality improvement and customer satisfaction.
  • Ensures that IT projects and programs for new, replacement or enhanced infrastructure, maximize customer service, satisfy internal stakeholder requirements.
  • Assist the technical team throughout the projects, collaborate and bring forward ideas and insights in team meetings
  • Anticipate bottlenecks and escalate issues when required to ensure on-time delivery
  • Reviews and evaluates studies, reports, design proposals, specifications, and contract documents, to meet established policies, procedures, and standards applicable to projects
  • Help internal partners make informed decisions about the development of programs, products, and services. Coach and mentor teams to work toward a common goal and negotiate deliverables and milestones whenever necessary.
  • Collaborate with project teams and key collaborators to define and manage project scope, strategy, requirements, and implementation.
  • Communicate clearly with all collaborators involved.
  • Maintain effective and regular communication with project teams, partners, sponsors, and management.
  • Identify resource needs and establish roles, expectations, and goals with team members.
  • Create management, communication plans and processes. Ensure proactive communication of all relevant information to all stakeholders
  • Develops and delivers reports and presentations defining plans, issues, status, and resolutions to appropriate levels of management
  • Proactively identify anything that will take projects off schedule and find solutions to correct the problem. Monitor milestones, and ensure they’re completed according to timelines and budgets. Execute a project plan that is personalized for each workstream preferred mix of budget, time, and risk.
  • Analyze and develop procedures for management and technical duties.
  • Define project responsibilities with stakeholders.
  • Participate in how budget and staff are allocated for the project.
  • Maintain project time frames, budget estimates and status reports.
  • Monitor and control that the project is delivered within the approved budget, schedule, and planned scope.
  • Ensure data in all project-related tools and repositories is accurate up to date
  • Create, manage new change’s for assigned projects, Present changes at the CAB’s, Leads the reviews and approvals assessment, mitigation, and communication of associated project risks
  • Act as the primary point of contact throughout the implementation process; escalate needs, issues, concerns as appropriate, Define and maintain the implementation plan with inputs from all stakeholders.
  • Leads and partners with various vendors to deliver agreed solution outcomes
  • Recommends and implements corrective action plans where variances in project plan execution occur, communicates with internal and external stakeholders, and negotiates change orders and revised schedules
Qualifications
  • Completion of a degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Business Administration with specialization in Project Management or a related discipline – or a combination of education, training, and experience deemed equivalent
  • Minimum 8 (eight) years of related IT projects, currency, and Life cycle management experience preferably in leading IT Infrastructure projects and technology related environments.
  • Experience in managing Cloud, Data Center, Network and Infrastructure Lifecycle projects would be an asset.
  • Demonstrated progressive experience in Technology enhancements, Infrastructure planning, prioritization, and risk management
  • Experience implementing both IT Infrastructure, Applications and Software systems would be beneficial
  • Familiarity with Agile and scrum methodologies is an asset.
  • Knowledge on various vendor technologies by Microsoft, Cisco, Lenovo, Extreme networks, HPE would be an asset
  • Agile certification (Agile Certified Professional, Certified Scrum Product Owner) is an asset.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) or PRINCE2 is required
