Qualifications

  • Minimum of two years related experience with children and youth.
  • Experience with trauma-informed practices is preferred.
  • Ability to obtain required certifications during probation.

Responsibilities

  • Assess, set goals for and evaluate progress of persons served.
  • Teach social skills through daily routines and activities.
  • Provide emotional support and crisis intervention.
  • Ensure safety and physical needs of persons served are met.

Skills

Child and Youth Care Degree or Diploma
Recent experience in child and youth care
Valid Class 5 BC Driver’s License
Crisis intervention skills
Communication skills

Education

Degree or Diploma in humanities, social work or related field

Tools

CPR/First Aid certification
WHMIS certification
Food Hygiene and Sanitation certificate
