Position Overview

Northern Health is looking for an experienced, highly efficient, and self‑directed Nursing Unit Clerk. Under the general supervision of the Manager or designate, the Nursing Unit Clerk performs a variety of clerical duties related to the operation of a care area. Duties include acting as a communication link for the unit by transcribing and processing physicians’ orders, communicating with other departments and hospitals, coordinating appointments, arranging tests and receiving results, receiving and directing visitors, answering telephones, assembling and maintaining charts, and performing keyboarding and data entry responsibilities.

Qualifications

Nursing Unit Clerk certification is required for this position.

Shift Rotation/Hours of work: Tuesday and Wednesday, Days – 08:00 to 16:00.

Hospital

Dawson Creek & District Hospital is a full‑service community hospital serving Dawson Creek and surrounding communities. It has 31 acute‑care beds and 15 regional adult psychiatric beds, and is the orthopaedic trauma and surgical centre for the northeast region of BC.
