Job Summary

We are excited to offer the opportunity of a full‑time Secondment for a Clinical Nurse Specialist, within the Complex Termination of Pregnancy and Specialist Placement Team, working within Women’s Services as part of the Gynaecology team.

Main duties of the job
  • Carry out a range of assessments and consultations on patients appropriately under the Specialist Placement and Complex TOP pathway, within a clinical setting.
  • Attend MDT meetings and progress actions as necessary.
  • Provide specialist advice to patients via both telephone and face‑to‑face discussion, some of which will require sensitive information and emotional support.
  • Provide specialist advice and guidance to other clinic specialties and teams.
  • Use communication and clinical skills to support patients emotionally and physically to achieve their best outcomes.
  • Provide patient education and support.
  • Successfully manage the patient database to ensure all patient data is input and accurate for accreditation and audit purposes.
  • Maintain excellent record‑keeping standards.
  • As a Band 6, provide leadership and management within the service.
