North Hills Primary Care Clinic #61-700 Tranquille Rd Kamloops, BC V2B 3H9.

Hours / Rotation
  • Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday: 08:00 – 18:00
  • Clinic hours: 08:00 – 16:00
  • On-call may be required.
Salary Range

Salary range for the position is $74.74/hour - $82.21/hour. Interior Health establishes salaries within the minimum and maximum of the salary range based on consideration of the qualifications, experience of the applicant.

Key Responsibilities
  • Diagnosis and Treatment: Assess and diagnose undifferentiated diseases and conditions, provide treatment, and prescribe medications in line with the Nurse Practitioner’s scope of practice and regulatory standards.
  • Care Management: Monitor ongoing care, order diagnostic investigations, interpret results, and develop tailored treatment plans to optimize patient outcomes.
  • Patient Communication: Establish care priorities, provide follow-up treatment, and communicate effectively with patients and families about diagnoses, care plans and prognoses.
  • Collaboration and Consultation: Work closely with physicians and other healthcare professionals to assess, diagnose, and create individualized treatment plans.
  • Prescribing Medication: Prescribe medications within legal and regulatory guidelines, ensuring the safe and effective use of pharmaceutical treatments.
  • Leadership and Supervision: Lead and guide other nursing and healthcare personnel, provide education, supervision and performance evaluations to support professional development.
  • Research and Innovation: Contribute to research aimed at enhancing patient care and advancing nursing practices.
  • Health Promotion: Lead health promotion activities and screenings, focusing on at-risk populations to prevent illness and promote well-being.
  • Education and Mentorship: Facilitate interdisciplinary education through case presentations, mentoring and collaboration in clinical and community settings.
  • Policy Development: Develop, implement and evaluate policies related to nursing, interdisciplinary care and health system practices.
  • Palliative and Long-Term Care: Serve as the most responsible provider for patients in palliative, hospice and long-term care settings when required.
  • Safety and Compliance: Adhere to Occupational Health and Safety guidelines to maintain a safe and healthy work environment.
  • Additional Responsibilities: Perform other duties as necessary to support patient care and organizational goals.
